Participant Group :

All Primary and Secondary Teachers

Background :
Nowadays educational leaders around the world are pointing out the need to develop thinking skills in school children. Finding time to do this is difficult, especially in systems in which the testing of factual knowledge drives all decision-making. During the workshop, Professor Bernie DODGE, a renowned scholar in education technology and the originator of WebQuest from San Diego State University, will propose ways in which two specific 21st century thinking skills can be fused with the teaching of content knowledge so that our children can succeed in school and living.

Objective(s) :
At the end of the workshop, teacher participants will understand how generic skills can be applied in the learning of content knowledge.

Programme Description :
The workshop will focus on the design patterns of WebQuest for analysis and judgment. Hands-on practice of WebQuests that combine thinking processes with content knowledge typically taught to children in primary and secondary school will be arranged for participants.

Language Medium :
English supplemented with Cantonese
