This is a group assignment. There should be 4 students in each group. You are one of the chefs of a group. Each group should complete all the three tasks according to their sequence (i.e. Task One, Task Two, Task Three).

Sub-Task One  Designing five healthy breakfast

  1. You will have to browse the web links provided and look for information about healthy food for breakfast and the amount of food that normal people could take for each breakfast.

  2. Discuss with your groupmates. Choose the appropriate food for the customers.

  3. Design a healthy breakfast for each of the customers. You should prepare the breakfast in the form of a table.

  4. On the table, there should include each customer's name and the food they should have for the breakfast. Each meal should have some food and drinks. You have to provide reasons on why the customers should take those food and drinks. You are also suggested to show the customers the number of the same breakfast they should have per week.

While you are designing the healthy breakfast, ask yourself:

- What is "overweight"?

- What is a healthy eating habit?

- Is the food healthy enough?

- Is the amount of food suitable for the customers?

- Have I included healthy drinks as well?

- When is the best time for eating?

- Do I choose a variety of healthy food so that the customers will like to eat them?

- Is the table clear enough for the customers to follow?

 Sub-Task Two Oral Presentation

  1. Finish Task One.

  2. Give an oral presentation to the Head Chef of the Welcome Chinese Restaurant (i.e. the rest of the class).  You have to make them use your plan (the healthy breakfast).

  3. In your presentation, describe and explain the good ways of taking your healthy breakfast.

  4. Each member must have a chance to present a part of the plan.

  5. You are welcome to use all sorts of visual aids (e.g. The PowerPoint) to make your presentation lively and vivid.

Remember, when you present:

- have eye contact with the audience

- have a clear and logical speech

- use more adjectives to describe the benefits of your plan

- be firm and confident

- be loud enough

When giving a presentation, ask yourself:

- How serious the problem (children being too fat) is in HK now?

- Are my points good enough to show the audience?

- Does the plan healthy enough for the customers? How can I prove it?

- Do I speak loud and clear enough?
