Reflection

This is my first time to create a WebQuest and to use a concept map. In my opinion, the most difficult part of creating a WebQuest is the generation of idea.

I have chosen music as the main idea of this WebQuest, hoping to stimulate students in getting to know more about the four families of a Western Orchestra and the various instruments of the families. Also, music can be used as a relaxing agent and students may discover the music that they enjoyed throughout the task. Moreover, this WebQuest offered a chance for students to integrate the four langauage skills (Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking) by asking them to do a 15 minutes presentation.

Nowadays, schools sometimes have cross-curriculum teaching with the cooperation between two teaching departments. This WebQuest provided a chance for teachers to co-teach as it can also be used for music teachers in introducing Western Orchestra to the students.

Although it's my first time to use a Concept Map in designing, I think that it is a useful tool for  organizing different ideas. It also helped my to find out whether there's any idea missing that is crucial for students in completing the task.

I enjoyed the process of designing a WebQuest. I have spent a lot of time on making it look nice and attractive. I hope that this WebQuest can help students to learn something that is useful for them and they will enjoy the process of accomplishing the task.
