To establish a centre for professional development and research for educators and teachers in Hong Kong and Chinese communities worldwide.
To promote and conduct research in information technology in education, and to disseminate the findings to the educational community, to enable the effective use of IT in education in Hong Kong, the Greater China Region, and the profession worldwide.
To accomplish the above vision and mission, the Centre has the following aims:
- Fostering the integration of IT in schools of Hong Kong, the Chinese community and further a field through the professional development of educators and teachers.
- Promoting collaboration among the Faculty of Education of CUHK, local and international organizations and institutions to form a knowledge-generating circle, with particular focus on professional development in information technology in education.
- Establishing and promoting IT literacy in schools in Hong Kong and other Chinese communities.
- Developing multimedia learning environments for students at primary and secondary levels of schooling.
